Russia sold Alaska to America already? Or Canada?

It seems obvious that they sold it to Canada.

Vancouver must feel kind of awkward.  Well, I suppose no worse than Alaska and Hawaii do.  Hope relations with Canada are very good.

I personally believe that their would be a war Oregon country if there was no Mexican- American war.

No Mexican War? Fifty-four forty or fight (sort of) a reality? Gran Colombia, alive and well? Independent Sonora and Chihuahua? What have you done, man? What have you done? Also, why is New Mexico called New Mexico? Wouldn't California or some variation thereupon be better suited?

...I see nothing wrong with Colombia. I get your point, though,

Welll didnt really say anything was wrong, just that it looks like OTL Colombia rather than Gran Colombia ;)

Except that OTL Colombia doesn't include Panama (and Gran Colombia has Venezuela in it, now that I think of it).

Actually, Panama didnt gain its independence until 1904,73 years after the disolution of Gran Colombia. And its important to note that the US pretty much forced Colombia into allowing its independence, which it could not of done on its own, and in this map the USA is much less influencial in Central America than OTL, so Panama would never have gained independence or this map could be before 1903.

From the way Im interpreting this, Texas has trading rights in Chihuahua and Sonora

One of the first maps I have seen to show how the influence of Britain would expand in Central America rather than detract, should the U.S. Not be blah blah.

Excellent map!

But why the Catalan flag for Sonora?

Looks like somebody mistyped "Sonora" on search bar and ended with "senyera".

What's the deal with Vancouver? Is it another province of Canada, or something else?

Looks like one of those AR's where the US/Canadian border isn't as friendly as it is here.

It's actually a separate British domain - they managed to keep it from the Oregon War, as a valuable port.

Aha. Lucky them.
Oregon war...wow. That must have been even more ridiculous than the French & Indian war in terms of small-scale actions of troops trying to bump into each other in vast wilderness.

Another wonderfull pic. I appreciate the small things too, such as the major towns in Texas sporting different names than in our reality. I wish I could make maps this fine!

I have two questions...

A) What does D.B. stand for?

B) Why is Ottawa spelled Ottowa?

A) "District of the Brazos". An actual title that the Texans took for their capital during their brief independence.

B) Misspelling. That one always trips me up.
